Section 01
Sewage, Black Water and Grey Water Testing
The lab can test for three common bacterial groups related to sewage, black water, grey water, storm water, and water intrusion events:
- 1E. coli
- 2Fecal coliforms
- 3Enterococcus species
Samples should be chilled. Testing may apply to storm water, sewage, black water, grey water, swabs, and potable water depending on the situation. Sewage screen kits may require multiple bottles, such as 3 to 6 bottles, depending on the scope of testing. Swabs may also be included when needed.
- Environmental companies
- Restoration and remediation companies
- Water intrusion cleanup companies
- Water management and treatment companies
- Industrial hygienists
- Hospitals, facility management, and government facilities
Sewage Testing Pricing
Lab fees only. Additional fees apply if the sample needs to be collected by an inspector.
| Turnaround Time | Price |
|---|---|
| 24-hour turnaround | $100 per sample |
| Routine turnaround, 2 to 3 days | $75 per sample |

Section 02
Potable Water Testing
Potable water testing checks drinking water for indicator organisms that signal possible contamination. The most common screen is for E. coli and total coliforms, which are widely used to flag fecal or environmental contamination.
Useful for private wells, building taps, ice makers, fountains, and other points of use where drinking water safety is a concern. A presence/absence result is available within 24 hours, with a standard routine option for non-urgent screening.
Potable Water Pricing
| Test | Price |
|---|---|
| E. coli / Total Coliforms, Presence/Absence | $75 per sample, 24-hour turnaround |
| E. coli / Total Coliforms, Routine Turnaround | $50 per sample |

Section 03
Foul Smell and Odor-Related Water Testing
For water samples with foul smell or odor concerns, testing may include total bacterial counts and plate counts that point toward the likely source.
Further bacterial identification or speciation can be performed if needed once the initial counts indicate where to look.
- Total bacterial counts
- Heterotrophic Plate Count (HPC)
- Aerobic Plate Count (APC)
- Anaerobic Plate Count
Foul Smell Testing Pricing
| Test Type | Price |
|---|---|
| Foul smell bacterial count testing | $28 per sample |
Kit Requirement
Sample Kits Available on Request
Sample kits with the appropriate bottles, swabs, and chain of custody paperwork are available from the lab. Sewage screen kits may include three to six bottles depending on the scope of testing. Contact us before your project starts and we will build the kit to match your sampling plan.
